It’s been over half a year since my last update, so that’s embarrassing.
But! Things have been happening. A year ago, I wasn’t doing much writing. I was taking developmental editing courses, I was beta reading, I was reading and practicing editing like crazy, but I wasn’t writing. Now I have a published short story, three short comics, and I’ve been making lots of moves behind the scenes.
What I’ve learned:
- When it comes to making comics, I’m hooked. Massively.
- Imposter syndrome is a hydra that needs constant slaying
- I’m not a graphic designer and making my own website is also a hydra that needs constant slaying
- Scheduling time to write is everything
- You can’t control what you can’t control
In other news, I just became a first reader for a literary magazine, which is a position I’ve been on the lookout for for eons, so I’m thrilled.
The world is heavy and sometimes we have to take stock of our wins to stay sane.
